Istanbul, April 3 (Hibya) - On the last trading day, generally limited movements stood out across global markets. On U.S. stock exchanges, indices ended the day on a mixed but near-flat note.

The Dow Jones index fell 0.13 percent to 46,504.67 points, while the S&P 500 index rose 0.11 percent to 6,582.69 points. The Nasdaq index closed up 0.18 percent at 21,879.18 points. The Russell 2000 (Small Cap 2000) index, which includes small-cap companies, posted a 0.70 percent gain.
The VIX index, a measure of market volatility, fell 2.73 percent to 23.87, pointing to a limited improvement in risk sentiment.
In North America, Canada’s S&P/TSX index rose 0.46 percent, while Brazil’s Bovespa index posted a modest 0.05 percent increase. Mexico’s IPC index was flat.
In Europe, Germany’s DAX index underperformed with a 0.56 percent decline, while the MSCI World Index, which measures global equity performance, rose 0.02 percent, showing a largely flat picture.
