von der Leyen: Diplomacy delivers results, Iran deal will reopen the Strait of Hormuz
Brussels, 16 June (Hibya) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the agreement between the United States and Iran must mark the end of Iran’s nuclear programme, stressing that diplomacy is producing tangible results.
von der Leyen welcomed the agreement reached between the United States and Iran in Evian.
She said the deal must bring a “definitive end” to Iran’s nuclear programme.
She stated: “I confirm that this agreement must ensure the definitive termination of Iran’s nuclear programme.”
She also noted that the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened and oil prices are falling, calling this a tangible result of diplomacy.
