German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul stated that during his meeting with Romanian Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu, they discussed security developments in the Baltic Sea and Black Sea regions.

In a social media post, Wadephul noted that the Baltic and Black Sea regions are of strategic importance in the face of threats originating from Russia.

For this reason, Germany and Romania will further strengthen cooperation in the defense industry and military fields, Wadephul said, adding that they aim to increase pressure on Moscow.

Emphasizing that Germany’s support for Ukraine will continue with determination, Wadephul stated that his country will keep supporting Ukraine in every field.

The statement came at a time when NATO allies continue coordinating their efforts regarding European security and the Russia-Ukraine war.
