Data on the current condition of Bulgaria's complex and major reservoirs have been released.

According to a statement by Bulgaria's Ministry of Environment and Water, as of August 10, 2026, the country's 52 complex and major reservoirs contained a total of 4 billion 784.2 million cubic meters of water. This amount was reported to correspond to 73.20 percent of total storage capacity.

The filling levels of 32 reservoirs were reported to be above 70 percent, while the "Hristo Smirnenski", "Yovkovtsi", "Kamchia", "Asenovets", "Borovitsa", "Kalin", "Pchelina", "Vacha", "Krichim" and "Kardzhali" reservoirs were above 90 percent. The Pchelina and Pancharevo reservoirs were also reported to be overflowing.

According to data from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, rainfall of up to 3-5 millimeters is expected in some mountainous areas this afternoon. No rainfall is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, while brief showers, thunderstorms and locally hail may occur in the mountainous parts of western Bulgaria on Thursday and in eastern regions on Friday.

The likelihood of rainfall over the weekend was reported to be low. The institute issued a first-level yellow warning for August 11 in 16 regions of the country due to high temperatures ranging between 35 and 38 degrees Celsius.
