WHO confirms 73 attacks on health services in Sudan
Geneva, July 11 (Hibya) - The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed 73 attacks on health services in Sudan since April 15, 2023. These attacks have killed 53 people and injured 100.
The WHO reported that these attacks have rendered hospitals in the most needed areas unserviceable and deprived entire communities of essential services.
In a statement, the WHO said: "Without access to healthcare, patients requiring urgent care, those with kidney failure, heart disease, children needing malnutrition treatment, and pregnant women are in danger. Since April 15, 2023, WHO has confirmed 73 attacks on health services in Sudan; these attacks have killed 53 people and injured 100. The attacks targeted health facilities, health assets, health service transportation, healthcare workers, and patients."
