Zelenski: 17 injured in drone attack in Odesa
Kyiv, September 3 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski announced that Russian drone attacks caused damage in many parts of the country, especially Odesa, and injured 17 people.
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski announced that Russian drone attacks caused damage in many parts of the country, especially Odesa, and injured 17 people.
In a social media post, Zelenski said emergency crews in Odesa were continuing their work at an apartment building targeted in a drone attack.
Zelenski said apartments from the 10th to the 17th floors of the building were damaged in the attack and that 17 people, including three children, were injured.
Zelenski said crews were continuing to assist the injured and repair the damage caused by the attack.
Zelenski said work to repair damage following the attacks was also continuing in the Obukhiv and Boryspil districts.
Zelenski said State Emergency Service teams were fighting a fire at a warehouse belonging to a pharmaceutical company, noting that the required number of rescuers were at the scene.
Zelenski also announced that attacks had been carried out in Nikopol, Kherson, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia and Khmelnytskyi.
Zelenski said 13 regions were affected by attacks in the last night alone, adding that air raid alerts in many cities and settlements continued almost without interruption due to the threat of Russian attacks using jet-powered drones.
Arguing that Russia has no intention of stopping its attacks, Zelenski said, “The enemy has not gone on vacation – the Russians have found a new path of escalation and have no intention of slowing down.”
Zelenski said Ukraine needs to deliver a stronger response and develop more countermeasures, calling for defense production with Europe to be accelerated.
Zelenski emphasized that air defense must be strengthened, particularly against missile and drone attacks.
Zelenski said Europe can develop its own defense capacity and be strong, noting that significant work has been done in this direction in recent years.
Zelenski said Ukraine works every day with its partners on new defense packages and thanked those working for common defense and those helping Ukraine.
