Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski announced that negotiating Clusters 2 and 3 had been officially opened as part of his country’s European Union (EU) accession process.
In a statement on social media, Zelenski said another critical step on the path toward the EU had been completed and thanked Irish Foreign Minister Micheál Martin, the President of the European Council, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and all EU member states for their support.
Expressing his gratitude to everyone fighting for Ukraine’s future and Europe’s security, Zelenski said: "Together, we are a stronger Europe. It is important that we all maintain this momentum so that the remaining two negotiating clusters are opened by the end of the year, meaning that all six negotiating clusters will have been opened. Ukraine deserves this."
