Zelensky: Efforts continue on air defense and joint defense production
Kyiv, Aug. 3 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that work is continuing with partner countries on air defense support, the localization of defense production, and expanding cooperation with the United States in the field of missile systems.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he had received a briefing from Defense Adviser Pavlo Palisa on the implementation of defense agreements signed with partner countries.
Zelensky stated that work is continuing with partners in the United States and Europe on support packages for the air defense systems Ukraine needs, stressing that air defense missiles should be where they are needed rather than stored in warehouses.
He added that efforts to localize the production of Western weapons systems in Ukraine are ongoing and that cooperation in this field will be significantly expanded with the support of European countries.
Zelensky also said that during his visit to the United States, several understandings were reached regarding the use of missile systems and the expansion of defense industry cooperation between Ukrainian and U.S. companies. The necessary documents are being prepared, and the process will be coordinated by Pavlo Palisa.
