Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that, on the occasion of Passover, he met with rabbis and representatives of the Jewish community from different cities of Ukraine. Emphasizing that Passover represents the victory of freedom, Zelensky said, “Passover symbolizes the victory of freedom. This is exactly what all of Ukraine is fighting for today.”

Thanking the Jewish community for its support to Ukraine, Zelensky said, “I thanked the Jewish community for being united in this struggle; I am grateful for the support they provide to people, the assistance they give to communities, and the prayers they offer for our state.”

Zelensky also referred to a special gift he received, saying, “I received as a gift the first Torah translated into Ukrainian, printed in a bookstore in Kharkiv that the Russians are trying to destroy.”
