Zelensky stated that the visit following Russia’s intense attacks was important and thanked the U.S. President, Congress, and the American people for their bipartisan support for Ukraine.

Zelensky noted that additional support for Ukraine was discussed during the meeting, particularly the strengthening of air defense systems. Stressing that Ukraine has a significant need for anti-ballistic missiles due to continuous Russian attacks, Zelensky said he had sent a letter outlining Ukraine’s needs to the White House and the U.S. Congress and personally handed the letter to the members of Congress as well.

Zelensky also said he provided information about the latest situation on the front line, emphasizing that long-range sanctions against Russia were producing effective results and that Ukraine’s partners clearly see the heavy losses Russia is suffering. He also stressed that sanctions against Russia should not be weakened.

Zelensky also announced that they are working on an agreement with the United States called the “Drone Deal” and noted that the negotiation process was also discussed during the meeting. Emphasizing that diplomacy should not be interrupted, Zelensky highlighted the importance of reviving negotiations, saying, “The whole world needs peace.”
