Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a statement regarding his meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

Zelensky said that while he was meeting with Rutte, Kyiv was targeted by three waves of ballistic attacks, adding, “I described all the consequences, destruction and loss of life to Mark in detail. This is the constant reality Ukraine lives with.”

Zelensky said Ukraine has gained experience in intercepting cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, adding that they are also seeking solutions against jet-powered Shahed-type drones and are achieving good results in this area.

Zelensky said, “However, against ballistic missiles, Patriot interceptors are currently the only effective option. We need them almost every day.”

Zelensky said he discussed with Rutte Ukraine’s need for Patriot interceptors and how a support package for the winter period could be secured, adding, “Thank you, Mark, for being ready to look for solutions. This is also very important for NATO member countries, given Russia’s constant threats to go further and destroy the lives of other nations.”
