Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia carried out intense air attacks against Ukraine this week.

In his statement, Zelensky said that Russian forces launched more than 3,170 attack drones, over 1,300 guided aerial bombs, and 74 missiles of various types against Ukraine.

Zelensky emphasized that most of the attacks consisted of ballistic missiles and stressed that numerous residential buildings and civilian infrastructure were targeted.

Zelensky reported that 52 people lost their lives and 346 others were injured as a result of the attacks, including 22 children among the wounded.

Emphasizing that the Ukrainian people need greater protection, President Zelensky stated that support for air defense systems saves lives, adding, “The PURL initiative and additional contributions against ballistic missiles are critically important.”

Zelensky also highlighted the importance of establishing a joint ballistic missile defense system in Europe, saying, “We must become self-sufficient in defense so that Russian air terror cannot threaten Ukraine or any other country on the continent.”

Thanking the countries providing support, Zelensky called for the continuation of concrete steps.
