Zelensky: Ukraine needs more air defense support
Kyiv, August 8 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Zelensky said that 3 people were killed in Russia's attack on the Kyiv region, adding that his country needs more air defense systems and new sanctions.
Ukrainian President Zelensky made a statement regarding Russia's overnight drone and ballistic missile attacks. Zelensky said that 3 people, a 3-year-old child and the child's grandmother and grandfather, were killed and 4 others were injured after a house was targeted in Pukhivka in the Kyiv region. Zelensky also reported that one person was killed in 6 ballistic missile attacks on civilian infrastructure in Kyiv, adding that various other regions were also subjected to attacks.
Zelensky said that more pressure and new sanctions restricting the production of ballistic missiles are needed to prevent Russia from continuing the war. Noting that Ukraine needs interceptor missiles for Patriot, SAMP/T, NASAMS and Hawk air defense systems, as well as for F-16 aircraft, Zelensky stressed that having air defense systems in Ukraine is critical to preventing loss of life.
