Zelensky: Ukraine ready to pause attacks on Moscow
Kyiv, September 5 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine is ready to observe a ceasefire in air strikes against cities involved in the negotiation process.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a statement that he had met with representatives of the US President and that the representatives had begun working with the Russian side.
Zelensky said that following the meeting, they were ready to observe a ceasefire in air strikes against cities involved in the negotiation process. He also stated that they were prepared to refrain from attacks on Moscow from the end of Saturday through Sunday and Monday, adding that they expected Russia to adopt the same approach regarding attacks on Kyiv.
Zelensky said he had received reports from Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi regarding the situation on the front line, developments concerning threats in Ukrainian airspace, and defensive operations.
Addressing the diplomatic process, Zelensky said that the plan for talks to be held in Kyiv with the participation of the US team had been approved, adding that they were ready for comprehensive discussions with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
