Zelensky: We are working on a drone agreement with Italy
Kyiv, April 15 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he discussed defense cooperation, a drone agreement, and regional security during his meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
Ukrainian President Zelensky made a statement regarding his meeting with Italian Prime Minister Meloni.
Zelensky stated that he informed the Italian side about the latest situation on the front and conveyed Ukraine’s need to strengthen its air defense.
He noted that defense cooperation between the two countries was discussed and that an agreement was reached for teams to work on the details, particularly regarding the unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) agreement.
Developments in the Middle East and the Gulf region were also discussed during the meeting. Zelensky said that assessments regarding contacts with regional actors were shared and views on the global security architecture were exchanged.
Zelensky thanked Italy for its support to Ukraine, emphasizing that Rome’s stance since the early days of the war has been an important example of solidarity for Ukraine.
