Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Prevot co-chaired the 7th EU-Angola Ministerial Meeting alongside Angola’s Foreign Minister Tete Antonio.

Prevot stated that the meeting marked a new milestone in the growing partnership following the African Union-EU Summit held in Luanda during Angola’s Presidency of the African Union. “We had a rich and open exchange on peace and security in Africa (including the Great Lakes region, the Sahel and the Horn of Africa) and Europe, on the Lobito Corridor as a driving force for regional development, trade and investment, and on our shared objectives for climate and energy transition,” he said.

Emphasizing that the Sustainable Investment Facilitation Agreement is in force, Prevot announced that a Business Forum will be held in May 2026. “We are working side by side to defend multilateralism and to promote education, health, and skills development for young people,” he added.

Prevot also announced that the next 8th Ministerial Meeting will take place in Luanda.
