8 Arab and Islamic countries jointly condemn Israel's "E1" settlement plan
Islamabad, August 21 (Hibya) - The foreign ministers of 8 countries, including Türkiye and Pakistan, condemned Israel's illegal "E1" settlement plan in the Palestinian territories and settler violence, calling on the international community to impose sanctions and take urgent action.
In a joint statement issued by Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the foreign ministers of Türkiye, Pakistan, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE firmly rejected Israel's illegal expansion policies in the occupied territories.
The ministers emphasized that the controversial "E1" settlement plan east of East Jerusalem would sever the geographical connection between the West Bank and East Jerusalem and effectively eliminate the possibility of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders. The statement noted that settler violence carried out with the support of Israeli forces constitutes a clear violation of international law. While supporting sanctions against individuals and entities responsible for illegal settlements, the ministers called on international actors, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take urgent steps to preserve the two-state solution.
