Carney: Canada is building big projects again
Ottawa, August 21 (Hibya) - Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said the country is increasing its investments in hydroelectric power, transportation, mining and ports.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney made a statement on efforts to strengthen the country's infrastructure and economic capacity.
Carney said Canada is making large-scale investments in hydroelectric power, transportation, mining and ports, adding that the Team Canada Strong program was launched as part of these efforts.
Carney stated that the program aims to train and employ skilled trades workers needed across the country, with a goal of bringing up to 100,000 Red Seal-certified skilled workers into the system. The Canadian government had also announced that the program aims to recruit and train between 80,000 and 100,000 new Red Seal-certified skilled workers over the next five years.
Carney emphasized that the Team Canada Strong initiative is a national effort aimed at strengthening Canada at home.
