Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese addressed the importance of child health and pediatric research, the socio-psychological impact of global medical developments on families, and the contributions of publicly supported health institutes to social welfare.

Drawing attention to his hospital visit and the institute’s impact on children, Albanese said, “Last week, I met James at the Royal Children’s Hospital. He is one of many children whose lives have been changed thanks to the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.”

Honoring the work carried out on the occasion of the institute’s anniversary and the healthcare workers involved, Albanese stated, “Tonight, we celebrated the people at MCRI who help change and save young lives every day. For 40 years, their work has given families hope during the hardest moments and provided children with the chance to live healthy and happy lives.”

Presenting the government’s vision for child health research, Albanese concluded his statement by saying, “That is why I am proud to invest in next-generation child health research at MCRI.”
