Fletcher: Famine risks are pushing millions of people into even deeper hunger
New York, May 16 (Hibya) - United Nations (UN) Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher announced that new Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) data point to a serious famine risk across Somalia, South Sudan, and Sudan.

Drawing attention to the dangers revealed by the newly published report, Fletcher said: “The new Integrated Food Security Phase Classification warnings underline the risk of famine across Somalia, South Sudan, and Sudan.”
Listing the causes of the humanitarian tragedy in the region, Fletcher stated: “Conflict, displacement, funding cuts, and access barriers are pushing millions of people into even deeper hunger.”
