Albares: Our trade relations with Algeria are going through an exceptional period
Madrid, February 7 (Hibya) – Spain’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, Jose Manuel Albares, held a meeting with Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf.
Albares said he was pleased to host Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf in Madrid.
Stating that political friendship strengthens relations, Albares said: “We are friends, partners and neighbors. Algeria is our main supplier of natural gas and a reliable, stable strategic partner.”
Referring to the exceptional period in trade relations, Albares added: “Our exports increased by 190 percent in 2025 and by 141 percent in 2024. Spain and Algeria continue to move forward together.”
