Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, Albares, stated that the time has come to build a sovereign Europe by defending democracy and freedom in unity, assuming responsibility for its own security and deterrence, developing an ambitious trade policy within a strong and competitive economy, and projecting the European Union to the world.

Albares said that at a time when vital decisions are being made and uncertain paths lie ahead, all democrats are uniting to defend freedom, human rights and justice against violence and arbitrariness, adding: “Spain’s foreign policy will continue to work in this direction.”
