Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi announced that he hosted India's External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in Muscat, where the two sides discussed diplomatic initiatives aimed at preserving freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a post on social media, Albusaidi said he was pleased to welcome Jaishankar to Muscat and noted that they held productive discussions on the intensive diplomatic efforts being undertaken to ensure the security of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Albusaidi thanked India for its support during this process and stressed that the long-standing maritime ties between Oman and India have connected the two peoples for centuries and continue to provide a strong foundation for the strategic partnership between the two countries.
