According to a report by CCTV, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Alimov called for a return to political and diplomatic means to resolve the conflict in the Middle East.

In an interview with China Media Group (CMG), Alimov stated that Russia and China share a common stance on the issue and jointly condemn military actions in the region.

Alimov also noted that through the joint efforts of Russia and China, the United Nations Security Council held an emergency meeting on Saturday to address the latest developments in Iran.

Alimov said:

“In the face of the current situation in the Middle East, we jointly advocate for the immediate cessation of violence, oppose escalation, and call for a return to political and diplomatic means to resolve the conflict in order to eliminate its impact on international peace and security as well as sustainable economic development.”
