Anand: Budget 2026 will end homelessness within 10 years
Ottawa, November 6 (Hibya) – Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand stated that her country has the lowest net public debt-to-gross domestic product (GDP) ratio among G7 countries, emphasizing that this fiscal strength provides significant capacity for investment.
Anand said Budget 2026 includes measures to expand energy infrastructure, support business growth and reduce the cost of living. "Budget 2026 puts this strength to work by expanding our energy infrastructure, helping businesses grow and making life more affordable," she said.
Anand also noted that the budget sets out a roadmap to end homelessness within 10 years. She explained that housing services would be combined with the care and support services people need to remain in their homes. "A stronger economy must provide Canadians with greater security in their everyday lives," Anand stated.
