Araghchi calls on UN Security Council for urgent action
Tehran, March 23 (Hibya) - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi strongly condemned the US and Israeli attacks on nuclear facilities in Iran and called on the United Nations Security Council to take urgent action.
According to CCTV, in a letter to the UN Secretary-General and Security Council members, Araghchi stated that the attacks on Natanz and Bushehr constitute a serious violation of international law.
Official data warned that such military interventions could lead to radioactive leakage and "immeasurable disasters" across the region.
Araghchi stressed that the attacks violate the UN Charter and the IAEA statute and called for deterrent measures against this "aggressive conduct".
He said actions threatening nuclear safety go beyond traditional military conflict and pave the way for environmental destruction.
The letter also reiterated the need to respect the "inviolability" of nuclear sites to protect public health.
