Hungarian Prime Minister Orban: If migration increases, borders must be closed
Budapest, March 23 (Hibya) - Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated that a major shift is taking place in European countries’ migration policies, emphasizing that borders must be closed and strict measures taken against the rising wave of migration.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban made a statement regarding the change in stance of European Union member states on migration.
Pointing to Hungary’s past isolation, Orban said: "At the beginning, Hungary was alone on migration. Now major European countries are saying the same thing: if migration increases, borders must be closed."
Giving clear messages on the methods to be implemented, Orban stated: "No delay, no bouquets of flowers, no teddy bears—only fences and the will to stop them."
Summarizing the overall strategic shift in Europe, Orban said: "A major change is taking place."
