Araghchi: The US has seriously violated the UN Charter
Tehran, June 22 (Hibya) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi stated that the United States has seriously violated the UN Charter, international law, and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) by attacking Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities.
Foreign Minister Araghchi emphasized that the US, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, has gravely violated international law and the UN Charter by targeting Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities.
He said the events of the morning sparked great anger and horror, adding: “There will be lasting consequences. Every member of the United Nations should be on alert in the face of this extremely dangerous, unlawful, and criminal act.”
Araghchi stated that Iran reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interests, and people in accordance with the UN Charter and its provisions on legitimate self-defense.
According to The Guardian, Israeli emergency services reported that Iranian missiles struck about 10 locations, including Tel Aviv, Carmel, and Haifa. No alarm sirens were heard in those areas.
Approximately 14 people are believed to have been injured, most not seriously. Rescue teams are continuing to search the impact sites. According to Haaretz, some buildings in Tel Aviv were destroyed.
