Asia-Pacific markets traded broadly lower on the first trading day of the week. All major indexes in the region recorded declines.

In Australia, the ASX 200 index fell 0.17 percent to 9,076.60 points.

In Japan, the Nikkei 225 index declined 0.90 percent to 65,805.37 points. The index's daily loss amounted to 600.19 points.

In India, the Nifty 50 index fell 0.62 percent to 24,026 points. The index lost 149.65 points.

In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng index declined 0.71 percent to 25,402.36 points. The index fell by 182.43 points.

Mainland China also saw a negative trend. The Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.20 percent to 3,944.463 points.

Thus, selling pressure dominated Asia's leading stock markets on the first trading day of the week.
