Australia issues travel warning for the Middle East
Canberra, March 1 (Hibya) – Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong said Australians should not travel to the Middle East due to military attacks and retaliations.
Foreign Minister Wong advised Australians not to travel to Israel, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain due to military attacks and retaliatory actions.
Wong also stated that travel warnings for Iran, Iraq, Syria and Yemen remain in place, saying, “Australians should reconsider their need to travel to Jordan.”
Wong explained that Australian citizens, permanent residents and their immediate family members in Israel or Iran can register on the registration portal to receive direct updates from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
She also noted that airspace closures and flight disruptions have been occurring across the Middle East.
