Awadallah receives World Food Programme delegation
Ramallah, July 9 (Hibya) - Palestinian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Dr. Omar Awadallah received World Food Programme (WFP) Regional Director Samer Abdel Jaber and the accompanying delegation.
According to a statement issued by the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Ambassador Dr. Omar Awadallah met with WFP Regional Director Samer Abdel Jaber, accompanied by WFP Representative and Country Director for the State of Palestine Sean Hughes.
Ambassador Awadallah briefed his guests on the crimes committed against the Palestinian people, the catastrophic situation, and the worsening humanitarian needs in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in the Gaza Strip.
Awadallah stressed the importance of continued coordination and cooperation between Palestinian institutions and the World Food Programme, noting that this strengthens the humanitarian response and supports the resilience of the Palestinian people in the face of the current circumstances.
Ambassador Awadallah also underlined the need to preserve the role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) as an indispensable UN agency.
