According to CCTV, Chinese President Xi Jinping issued instructions following a fire at a shoe factory in Jinjiang, Quanzhou, Fujian Province.

Xi instructed the authorities to continue search and rescue operations using all available resources and called for a comprehensive investigation into the cause of the fire, stressing that those found responsible for negligence must be held accountable.

The fire broke out at around 12:00 p.m. on Thursday at a shoe factory in Jiangtou Village, Chendai Town, Jinjiang. Reports indicated that many people lost their lives, while others remained trapped inside the building or were reported missing.

Xi Jinping also stressed that all local governments and relevant authorities must remain on high alert regarding workplace safety and ensure that all necessary measures are fully implemented to prevent major industrial accidents.
