Baqaei: Iran's conditions are clear and transparent
Tehran, September 23 (Hibya) - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said that a round of message exchanges and reciprocal statements between Iran and the United States took place through Qatari mediation on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei made a statement regarding the process of talks between Iran and the United States mediated by Qatar. Baqaei said the process took place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly and was a continuation of talks facilitated by mediator countries.
Baqaei said that during the process, which lasted approximately two hours, Iran's position and conditions for reviving diplomacy were conveyed to the U.S. side, adding that this was done in a manner that left no room for doubt or excuses on the part of either side.
Regarding Iran's conditions, Baqaei said, “Iran's conditions are clear and transparent: an end to U.S. aggressive actions, including the naval blockade and economic terrorism, an end to the war on all fronts, and the release of Iran's frozen or restricted assets.”
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Baqaei also listed, among other conditions, the acceptance of safe maritime routes based on the understanding reached between the two coastal states.
