Baqaei: You are trying to punish Iran that resists aggression

Tehran, March 11 (Hibya) - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei argued that Iran’s stance against the attacks constitutes legitimate self-defense under the UN Charter.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei made a statement regarding attempts to impose sanctions and condemn Iran.

Stating that Iran’s military actions have a legal basis, Baqaei said: "You are trying to punish Iran, which is exercising its legitimate right of self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and resisting the ruthless and unlawful aggression of the United States and the Israeli regime."

Describing Western states’ regional policies as "complicity in crime", Spokesperson Baqaei said: "At the same time, you continue to arm, protect and support these genocidal aggressors. Such an approach is nothing but active participation in international lawlessness and abhorrent crimes of brutality."
