Blinken: The U.S. is proud that Turkey has been a NATO ally for 72 years
Washington, October 29 (Hibya) - U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that the United States is proud that Turkey has been a NATO ally for 72 years.
Secretary of State Blinken, on behalf of the United States, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the people of Turkey on the 101st anniversary of the Republic’s founding.
Blinken noted that today marks an important turning point in the history of the Turkish nation, and they stand with the Turkish people to honor their progress over the past century, saying:
“For 101 years, the friendship between our nations has deepened and strengthened through our shared values and mutual interests. The NATO Alliance is a cornerstone of regional peace and security, and the United States is proud that Turkey has been a NATO ally for 72 years.”
Blinken added, “We celebrate this historic occasion with you, marking the founding of the Turkish Republic, and we look forward to another century of friendship and alliance that will benefit our peoples, the region, and the world. Thank you for being a steadfast ally and partner. I extend my best wishes for enduring peace, prosperity, and success to you and the people of Turkey.”
