Budrys: Russia continues to show it has no interest in peace
Vilnius, July 30 (Hibya) – Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys commented on Russia's missile and drone attacks against Ukraine.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys stated that Russia has no intention of pursuing peace or negotiations, stressing that support for Ukraine must be increased and sanctions against Russia must be tightened.
Referring to the scale of the attacks and Russia's stance, Budrys said: "Russia continues to show that it has no interest in negotiations or peace. Last night, it launched yet another large-scale missile and drone attack against Ukraine, using around 50 missiles and hundreds of drones targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure across the country."
Emphasizing that diplomatic efforts have gone unanswered, Budrys said: "These attacks are yet another reminder that Russia responds to every diplomatic effort with more terror. Peace cannot be achieved through concessions to the aggressor. It requires sustained pressure on Russia and unwavering support for Ukraine."
Listing the necessary steps, Budrys concluded: "We must continue strengthening Ukraine's military capabilities, increase military, financial and political assistance to Ukraine, tighten sanctions against Russia, and accelerate the implementation of the EU's 22nd sanctions package. Every delay only emboldens the Kremlin."
