Bulgaria expresses support for US–Iran memorandum of understanding
Sofia, 16 June (Hibya) - Bulgaria welcomed the memorandum of understanding announced between the United States and Iran and called for its rapid implementation to enable the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Bulgaria welcomed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the United States and Iran. The statement emphasized that the agreement should be implemented swiftly to allow the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Bulgaria also expressed gratitude to the mediators who contributed to diplomatic efforts, including the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
The statement stressed that this is an important first step toward a comprehensive and sustainable agreement and an opportunity to restore regional stability and strengthen the security architecture.
