Canada provides nearly $7 million to support return of children in Ukraine
Ottawa, October 6 (Hibya) - Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand announced that nearly $7 million in support will be provided for efforts to locate children who are said to have been taken by Russia and reunite them with their families.
Canadian Foreign Minister Anand said nearly $7 million in support will be provided for efforts to locate children in Ukraine who are said to have been taken by Russia, reunite them with their families and carry out the return process.
In a statement on social media, Anand said Ukrainian organizations are working on the ground to locate children, facilitate their return to their families and bring them back to their country.
The support is expected to include local civil society organizations as well as groups such as Save Ukraine, which work to trace children, facilitate their return and provide support afterward.
Anand said, “Every child deserves to be with their family in a free Ukraine.”
