Carney: Canada stands in solidarity with the UAE in the face of attacks
Ottawa, March 3 (Hibya) – Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney spoke with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and condemned Iran’s attacks in the region.
During his meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Prime Minister Carney addressed the escalating military tensions in the Middle East and the safety of civilians.
Regarding the discussion, Carney said: “Earlier today, I spoke with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Canada stands in solidarity with the United Arab Emirates in the face of Iran’s rocket and drone attacks against civilians in the Middle East.”
Expressing his gratitude, Carney added: “I conveyed my thanks to His Highness for the protection provided to thousands of Canadians living in the United Arab Emirates.”
Clarifying Canada’s stance on the conflict in the region, Carney stated: “Canada calls for de-escalation and the immediate cessation of attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure.”
