CENTCOM discusses maritime shipping in the Strait of Hormuz
Washington, October 8 (Hibya) - US Central Command held an online meeting with representatives of the international maritime shipping industry to discuss the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and freedom of navigation.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) held an online briefing for its international maritime shipping partners regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
According to a statement from CENTCOM, the meeting addressed accelerating efforts to ensure freedom of navigation as commercial maritime traffic increases.
The statement also said that CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper thanked industry representatives and other US government agencies for their continued support. It also highlighted the sacrifices and hardships faced by civilian crews as a result of what it described as "unjustified Iranian attacks."
