CENTCOM: US Marines seize Iranian-flagged Touska vessel
Washington, April 20 (Hibya) – The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that US Marines carried out an operation against an Iranian-flagged vessel.
CENTCOM stated that US Marines conducted an operation against an Iranian-flagged commercial vessel.
According to the statement, US Marines departed by helicopter from the amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli (LHA 7) and boarded the vessel M/V Touska, which was sailing in the Arabian Sea.
The statement noted that on April 19, the Marines rappelled onto the Iranian-flagged vessel.
Prior to the operation, the guided missile destroyer USS Spruance (DDG 111) disabled the vessel’s propulsion system after it failed to respond to repeated warnings from US forces over six hours.
