China and Vietnam conduct first joint naval exercise in the Beibu Gulf
Beijing, March 22 (Hibya) - The navies of China and Vietnam successfully completed their 40th joint patrol mission in the Beibu Gulf as well as their first-ever joint naval exercise.
According to CCTV, the two-day operation concluded on Friday. The Chinese Navy’s Hengyang and Enshi ships operated together with Vietnam’s Tran Hung Dao and Ly Thai To vessels.
According to official data, the fleet departed from Fangchenggang Port in southern China and carried out a double-line patrol along the maritime boundary in the Beibu Gulf.
As part of the operation, the two countries’ navies conducted joint training in command exchange, information sharing, escort missions, and search and rescue operations.
