Cooperation and sanctions agenda between Canada and Tunisia
Ottawa, April 17 (Hibya) - Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand discussed strengthening bilateral relations and economic cooperation in a phone call with her Tunisian counterpart Mohamed Ali Nafti.
Canadian Foreign Minister Anand made a statement regarding her phone call with Tunisia’s foreign minister.
The discussion focused on strengthening relations between Canada and Tunisia and increasing opportunities for economic cooperation.
Anand also noted Canada’s decision to extend sanctions on certain Tunisian officials over corruption allegations, stating that the move aims to support accountability and good governance.
The parties emphasized the importance of strong ties between the peoples of both countries and agreed to further develop their economic partnership.
