Costa: We continue to support Ukraine and its goal of EU membership
Brussels, May 4 (Hibya) – European Council President Antonio Costa met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky; he stated that support for Ukraine continues and that they support the goal of a just, lasting peace and European Union (EU) membership.
European Council President Costa held a meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky within the framework of the European Political Community.
Costa stated that the meeting was co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer, adding that areas of work in Ukraine were assessed.
Costa also emphasized that they will continue to support all efforts toward a just and lasting peace, including increasing pressure on Russia. Stating that Ukraine’s future lies in the European Union, Costa noted that cooperation toward this goal will continue.
