Schoof stated that former US President Donald Trump’s peace plan was discussed during the meeting and that Mustafa welcomed the plan positively. Emphasizing that the two-state solution is the only path to lasting peace, Schoof said: “This means an independent Palestinian state without Hamas alongside a secure Israel. Hamas must also agree to end the war.”

Addressing the humanitarian situation in Gaza, Schoof announced that the Dutch government, in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO), will provide treatment in the Netherlands for some Palestinian children from Gaza who need advanced medical care.

Schoof also stressed the importance of achieving an immediate ceasefire, ensuring unimpeded humanitarian aid to Gaza, releasing all hostages, and reducing tensions in the West Bank.
