EU Commissioner Lahbib: The wounds of Russia's aggression in Ukraine are deep
Brussels, February 24 (Hibya) – European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness, and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib stated that the wounds of Russia’s aggression in Ukraine are deep.
Lahbib emphasized that the wounds of Russia’s aggression in Ukraine are deep, saying: "History will not be rewritten: Russia is the hunter. Ukraine will not be the prey."
She noted that the Ukrainian people did not choose war but a future within the European family:
"Despite the war, they continue on their path to the EU. Ukraine has made tremendous progress: it has strengthened its governance, economy, and institutions. The EU stands by them, supporting their efforts at every step."
Lahbib added: "The EU plays a leading role in humanitarian aid, evacuating the wounded, providing energy supplies, and rebuilding lives. We are there and will remain there, ready to accelerate Ukraine’s accession and walk this path together."
