Brussels, March 25 (Hibya) - The European Commission (EU) announced that it does not plan to present on April 15 the legislative proposal that envisages permanently banning imports of Russian oil due to the war in Ukraine.
According to CCTV, the European Commission will not present, as planned, on April 15 the legislative proposal to permanently ban Russian oil imports due to the war in Ukraine. This was indicated in the EU’s latest legislative agenda published on Tuesday.
The proposal, first introduced in June 2025, aimed to gradually end by the end of 2027 all direct and indirect imports from Russia, including pipeline gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG), as well as to completely halt Russian oil imports.
