Fletcher meets with Colombian Foreign Minister Bula
New York, August 11 (Hibya) – United Nations (UN) Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Coordinator Tom Fletcher made a statement on humanitarian aid efforts and emergency response activities following the earthquake in Colombia.
UN Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Coordinator Tom Fletcher drew attention to the seriousness of the humanitarian situation in the region and said that aid teams are actively working on the ground to meet basic needs.
Referring to relief efforts and coordination in the region, Fletcher said, “I met with Foreign Minister Omar Bula to provide practical support for the response to the devastating earthquake in Colombia.”
Noting that field teams had been mobilized, Fletcher concluded his statement by saying, “We also met there with our excellent and fully mobilized humanitarian team led by M. Torres Macho.”
