Brussels, July 31 (Hibya) – United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Tom Fletcher announced that humanitarian operations are being expanded to support families affected by the conflict in Sudan's North Kordofan State.

Fletcher said, “We are expanding our operations to reach families affected by the conflict in North Kordofan.”
Stating that every opportunity would be used to deliver life-saving assistance to El Obeid and surrounding areas, Fletcher said, “The parties must de-escalate tensions, protect civilians, and ensure humanitarian access.”
