Since the Taliban came to power in 2021, food aid in Afghanistan has been severely restricted. Crop shortages, drought and poor economic conditions have further worsened living conditions for Afghans.

Doctors Without Borders says that more than 300 children are admitted each month to a hospital in Herat for treatment due to malnutrition.

The situation is deteriorating, and if current conditions persist, four million children in Afghanistan will require treatment for malnutrition in the near future.
